TATTOO AFTERCARE
RedBack Ink Studio – Bali
Your tattoo is fresh artwork.
How you treat it in the first few weeks will determine how sharp, bold, and beautiful it heals.
Follow this guide carefully to protect your ink.
STEP 1 — First 24 Hours (Critical Phase)
This is the most important stage of healing.
Leave The Wrap On
Your tattoo will be covered after the session.
Keep the protective wrap on for 2–4 hours (or follow your artist’s specific advice).
First Cleaning
After removing the wrap:
• Wash your hands thoroughly
• Gently rinse the tattoo with lukewarm water
• Use mild, fragrance-free soap
• Remove excess plasma, ink, and ointment
• Pat dry with clean tissue or let it air dry
• Do NOT rub
Apply Thin Layer of Ointment
Use a small amount of recommended tattoo aftercare ointment.
Remember:
Too much ointment can suffocate the skin.
A thin layer is enough.
Repeat cleaning 2–3 times a day.
DAYS 2–3 — Early Healing
Your tattoo may:
• Feel warm or tight
• Look slightly red
• Start forming a light protective layer
This is normal.
Continue washing gently and applying a thin layer of ointment.
DAYS 4–7 — Peeling Stage
Your tattoo will start to:
• Peel like a mild sunburn
• Feel itchy
• Look slightly dull
DO NOT:
• Scratch
• Pick scabs
• Peel skin manually
Let your body do its job naturally.
Switch to a light, fragrance-free moisturizer if recommended by your artist.
WEEK 2–3 — Surface Healing
Peeling decreases.
Color begins to settle.
Skin may still feel slightly dry — keep moisturizing.
Avoid heavy sun exposure.
WHAT TO AVOID DURING HEALING
For at least 2–3 weeks:
• No swimming pools
• No ocean swimming
• No sauna or steam rooms

Bali sun is strong — protect your tattoo.
NORMAL HEALING SIGNS
